LNG Exports

Monday, January 14th, 2013

This article is worth reading: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/05/business/energy-environment/exports-of-us-gas-may-fall-short-of-high-hopes.html?pagewanted=all&_r=3&. Not many years ago, when natural gas prices were high, a boom in LNG imports was expected. Now the opposite is cussed and dis-cussed. Environmentalists and domestic users of gas do not like the idea of exporting it, while gas producers, pipelines and owners of coastal LNG plants do.  However, as this article points out, it may be cheaper to export the drilling technology than the gas itself.
